VR180° Grain extractor, Victoria quays, Sheffield.

I used to play within these buildings as kid when all of this was derilict and forgotten about, before its redevelopment, and so I probily saw a lot more of the heritage than there is to see here now.

I most likely even climbed upone this grain extractor but my interest in it these days is because of the ingenuity or it and for its engineering, bearing in mind this was from the age of inovation.

The extractor itself is probabily just one example left of many that had been here and looks like would have been levered/lowered into the barges where a belted bucket conveyor system taking up the grain to a shoot so as to have filled the hoppers for storage.
I will try one day to get access to the building to film the hoppers as I know that they were also preserved due to their heritage staus and importance to the city and its early prosperity.

There also used to be a 'elter skelter' (archimedes screw) shoot on the outside of the building that I think was for hay bales (?) and which we also used to climb up to enter, but this has sadly gone now.
