WOW Sounds: Voice of Baceprot

WOW Sounds presents Voice of Baceprot, an Indonesian Muslim all-girl rock band - VOB for short. The band formed in 2014 when they started using music to raise awareness of the lack of education for girls in their communities. The word ‘baceprot’ comes from the Sundanese language meaning ‘LOUD’ and that’s certainly what they are! They are up against a double whammy of gender and religion - and challenging stereotypes is something they are certainly taking in their stride. They performed their track 'School Revolution' exclusively for WOW UK Festival 2021.
