Greetings YT family!
Before any of yall gets any crazy ideas, no I did not adopt another bird lol.
I am bird sitting this sweet baby for a family member who is out of town that adopted her years ago.
Jorgey is a Blue-headed Pionus.
She was in a great home before, but unfortunately had to be given up due to her owner developing severe allergies. Jorgey's bird dust and dander was actually killing the woman looking after her.
It broke her heart to give her up but she had no choice.
She has been in wonderful hands ever since and is so loved!
I completely adore this little lady, she is absolutely precious.
She's got quite the squawk on her 🙉😉.
When I leave the room she does the very typical bird holler until I turn up again.
Also you may notice how her back toe is turned outwards on her right foot, her foot was like that when she was adopted.
I will miss her when I have to give her back but I'm thoroughly enjoying my time with her while she's here.

I cannot stress enough how heartbreaking this sad truth is.... Too many people impulse buy parrots because of cute or funny traits they've seen in other birds.
A life stuck in a cage is cruel and so unfair to these magnificent beautiful creatures.

They deserve the absolute best!
If you are interested in a parrot, adopt one because you have the time, money, patience, energy and if you want to save them from a life stuck behind bars, not solely because they are cute or funny or talk etc.
Again parrots are a LIFETIME commitment.

They can live up to 80+ years!! Which means they just might outlive you, and where will they go if something happens to you and one day you don't come home? What will happen to them? Who will love them and care for them? All things to consider....
I've given up many many things to give my two parrots and other animals the best life they can possibly have!

It is an honor to share our lives with these amazing creatures.
Please ADOPT DONT SHOP!
Please choose not to buy babies from a breeder who breeds for profit, there are thousands of birds suffering in cages abandoned and unloved waiting in sanctuaries and rescues, for homes to be cared for properly and loved.

PLEASE do your research and educate yourself before adopting, they are a lot of hard work but so worth it if you do things right and do what is best for them.

After all, we have our friends, our jobs, and our hobbies, they only have us💗❗️❗️
