Summer of Love in Seattle quickly changes ‘after a few shootings’

Although the Mayor of Seattle labelled the Capitol Hill Occupied Precinct the summer of love, “it wasn’t after a few shootings and a death” according to Sky News US political commentator Joe Hockey.

In a shooting on Monday morning (local time) in the area designated CHOP by Black Lives Matter protesters, one person has died while another is critically injured.

“When you have a part of a major city that has banned police access, then you are going to get some lawlessness,” Mr Hockey told Sky News host Paul Murray.

Although President Donald Trump has threatened to take control of the cities if violence and crime gets out of control and Mayors refuse to do so, there is still a clear refutations of law and order, according to Mr Hockey.

“There’s a level of lawlessness which reflects poor law and order and poor governance of law and order.”
