Suyaki® - Nakamoto Forestry

Suyaki® is the original, unbrushed yakisugi and can be installed both indoors or outdoors. When it’s finished being heat-treated, the surface takes on a dramatic and beautiful texture. It’s a delicate surface, so we often finish it with an oil that helps keep it from chipping or flaking off, but it should still be installed carefully in an area where it won’t be bumped into or scratched often. Suyaki will generally last longer than brushed versions of yakisugi "shou sugi ban", due to the heavily charred surface that is left intact.
