A massive fire has broken out in the Madrid town of Loeches, Spain.
The fire that started on Wednesday afternoon in a pasture area in the Madrid town of Loeches, is still not extinguished and is in the control phase, after a complicated night of extinguishing by the Firefighters and the order to evacuate 60 people from 15 homes and three nearby farms, according to the Civil Guard.
The fire, whose causes and circumstances are still unknown, started at around 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday from the area of Arganda del Rey and gradually approached Loeches. Its expansion around many hectares of a pasture area forced the Community of Madrid to declare operational status 2 of the Special Emergency Civil Protection Plan of Infoma (on a scale of 0 to 3) in view of the advance of the flames.
17 means (11 land and 6 air) of the Firefighters Brigades and the Forest Agents are working in the area. Another 3 air means have been requested from the State.
