Labour candidate and more Tories named in the Betting Scandal | Jeremy Vine

The betting scandal is rumbling on and taking over the election headlines...

Cabinet minister Alistair Jack has admitted he made three election bets for the election to fall in May, June or July - winning one but losing two of them - he says he's NOT under investigation for these bets.

BUT a fifth Conservative politician is being investigated - this time from the Welsh Parliament.

Russell George represents the Conservatives in the Senedd in the seat of Montgomeryshire - which is the same seat that former Tory candidate Craig Williams is standing in. He was of course the first Tory candidate to be investigated for betting on the date of the election.

BBC Newsnight claims up to 15 Conservative candidates and officials are being looking into by the Gambling Commission.

Meanwhile - the Labour Party has withdrawn support from one of their own candidates over betting too. However, this time the candidate, Kevin Craig, had betted on himself to lose in the seat of Central Suffolk and North Ipswich.
