Six Flags New England in Agawam will debut the Quantum Accelerator, the region’s only dual-launch straddle coaster, opening in mid-April. The ride, themed around steampunk and time travel, launches riders on hover-bike-style seats with a forward lean. It features two launchesand first from 0 to 30 mph out of the station, and a second mid-course burst up to 45 mph, plus high-speed turnarounds, 11 airtime moments, and a Stengel dive that tilts beyond 90 degrees at the peak. The 2,604-foot coaster stands 59 feet tall and can carry 850 riders per hour. It is the park’s twelfth rollercoaster and its newest since The Joker opened in 2017. The 200-acre site hosts more than 100 rides, shows and attractions, including the region’s largest water park. Quantum Accelerator opens to season pass holders on April 11 and to all guests on April 17, per park officials. Opening day is April 11, 2026.
