Sticky Brown Sugar Baked Pork Rib Tips
These tender, bite-sized pork pieces are caramelized on a sheet pan with a sweet and sticky glaze. Coated in brown sugar, garlic, and BBQ notes, they cook up with perfectly charred, crispy edges while staying incredibly juicy on the inside.
Ingredients
* **2.5 lbs** pork rib tips (or sliced pork strips)
* **1/2 cup** dark brown sugar, packed
* **1/3 cup** BBQ sauce
* **2 tbsp** soy sauce
* **1 tbsp** olive oil
* **3 cloves** garlic, minced
* **1 tsp** onion powder
* **1 tsp** smoked paprika
* Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. **Prep:** Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large rimmed baking sheet or pan with a double layer of aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
2. **Season the Meat:** Pat the pork pieces dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the meat with olive oil, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and plenty of black pepper until evenly coated.
3. **Make the Sticky Glaze:** In a separate small bowl, whisk together the dark brown sugar, BBQ sauce, soy sauce, and minced garlic until a thick, uniform glaze forms.
4. **Coat:** Pour two-thirds of the brown sugar glaze over the seasoned pork, tossing everything together so every piece is heavily coated.
5. **Arrange and Bake:** Spread the pork out in a single, flat layer across the foil-lined sheet pan. Bake uncovered for **30 minutes**.
6. **Caramelize:** Remove the pan from the oven and brush the remaining glaze over the top of the pieces. Turn the oven up to a high broil and return the pan to the oven for **4 to 5 minutes**—keep a close eye on it so the sugars bubble, char, and turn sticky without burning.
7. **Serve:** Let the meat rest for 5 minutes before serving.
