I Think My 24/70 Has Fungus - the diagnosis and prevention of lens mold

Everything you may (or may not) have ever wanted to know about mold infestation in camera lenses. Includes a DIY tutorial for building your own low humidity lens storage case. Also covers the highly technical challenges of drilling holes in things and putting glue on things. These notes contain a couple of Amazon Affiliate links, meaning that I may make a small commission from qualified sales, but you still pay the same discounted price.

Since making this video, the cheap analog hygrometer stopped working and I subsequently replaced it with a vastly superior wifi humidity monitoring device called the TempStick. This is a set and forget gadget that sends a message to my phone if the humidity exceeds my threshold. Basically, it tells me when I need to recharge my silica gel. You can find the device here ... https://amzn.to/2OpBDiz

There is also a less fancy device that was suggested by a viewer. It has fantastic reviews and seems to have the same basic functions. It is called the HT.w Sensor (whatever that means) and you can find it here: https://amzn.to/3etrGLy

By the way, for any humidity sensor to give you useful data you need to have a moisture sealed container. By far these best ones I have found are these Sterilite boxes ( https://amzn.to/3qDNFSy ). I bought 4 of them because I wanted to monitor all my lenses and cameras, but I only ended up needing two to hold 6 camera bodies and 24 lenses.
