Opening of the Legal Year Ceremony - 3rd October 2016

Every year, for the Opening of the Legal Year, around 700 people (judges, senior judicial officers, Law Officers, Queen’s Counsel, ministers, lawyers, etc.) are invited to attend the service in Westminster Abbey. This 45-minute service, which starts at 11:30am, is conducted by the Dean of Westminster. It includes prayers, hymns, psalms and anthems. Usually, the Lord Chancellor reads a lesson.
