William T. Sherman, Part 13 | Chickasaw Bayou and Arkansas Post
William T. Sherman is one of the most famous or infamous Civil War Generals. In this biography, you will learn about Sherman's personal life as well as his military career. You will find throughout this series a commander who had a lot of internal strife and personal problems, which he attempted to overcome. Essentially orphaned at a young age, he was taken in by a prominent politician and he would strive his entire life to get out from under Thomas Ewing's shadow and get away from Ohio. Sherman fell in love with the South and wanted to stay there, but the Civil War forced him to choose a side. Even though he loved the south, he thought that secession created disorder, which he hated and sought to end the chaos through preserving the Union. In this episode, Sherman fights against McClernand and helps capture Arkansas Post.
