Assembler | FACTORYIO Scene | Studio5000 | 2023

In this example, we use Studio 5000 with Factory IO to program an automated assembly system. The system has two conveyors: one moves top lids, the other bottom lids.

A robotic arm takes a top lid from the first conveyor and puts it on a bottom lid on the second conveyor, lining up the parts for assembly. This synchronized process results in a finished product coming off the line.

After a part is assembled, a lifting mechanism briefly stops the conveyors, letting the finished product keep moving forward without interruption. This pause also holds incoming lids in place until the current assembly is done, ensuring accurate timing.

By combining Studio 5000 and Factory IO, we can coordinate the complex sequence of motions in this automated assembly process. The system demonstrates what can be achieved when precise engineering and smart programming work together in a manufacturing setting.
