UK government plans to decide what news you see.
Speaking in Parliament, Conservative MP Nigel Huddleston questioned the Labour government over proposals in its Media Green Paper to require social media platforms to give greater prominence to public service media and other "trusted" news providers.
Huddleston questioned who would determine which news providers are considered trustworthy and warned that any system which prioritises some sources over others could raise concerns about freedom of speech and freedom of the press.
The proposals form part of a government consultation on reforms to UK media and how trusted news is promoted online.
