The Warburg-Effect - Glucose Metabolism in Cancer
Hey Friends,
todays talk will be all around the so called `Warburg-Effect´. Cancer cells were observed to do aerobic glycolysis instead of oxidative phosphorylation in the presence of oxygen. This is a rather inefficient way of energy metabolism. It is not yet clear, if cancer cells benefit from this poor energy gaining pathway. Thanks!
Cheers,
Henrik
