Following days of torrential rain, China has ordered flood control and emergency rescue efforts to be stepped up along the Yangtze River. Tens of thousands have been evacuated, with more rain forecast for the coming days. Continuous rainstorms have swelled rivers to dangerous levels and flooded large parts of China's southern, northwestern and eastern regions.
