David Letterman's Eulogies Collection, 1984-2017

This is a collection of eulogies Dave offered to honor then-recently-deceased staffers and selected celebrities. They began with brief mentions at the end of the show. In time, though, they became more heartfelt, with stories and video montages.

It closes with an unaired homage that was prepared in 2015 but not in effect until two years after Late Show ended.

-- eulogy prepared in 2015.

Dave's tribute to Johnny Carson (from January 31, 2005) will appear in a forthcoming recut of Dave and Johnny appearances.

* Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" was used three times in this compilation. Due to copyright-block caution, I replaced his rendition with both Eva Cassidy's and Katie Melua's versions. They can be heard in Calvert's fake tribute (#6), Kathleen's tribute (#11) (both Katie and Eva), and Calvert's real tribute (#21) (Eva only).

Eva's full version can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPAGH0AT-os&spf

Katie's recreated duet with Eva here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFoXcO8llNI

** Tony Randall (#16): The show aired a small segment from Bob Dylan's "Forever Young." Since this compilation would have surely been blocked due to copyright issues, I replaced Bob's version with Nora Jones'.

Nora's full version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jEKY-3eNZc

*** The Rolling Stones' "Miss You" was used twice, once for Michele O'Callaghan's dog Cobi (#20), and again for Michele herself (#30). Again, for copyright-block caution: For Cobi, I replaced the Stones' version with Eric Gilliom and Vince Esquire's. For Michele, I selected Start Making Sense's rendition.
