WHEN your boyfriend works in real estate and has a holiday home in the Hamptons - and there’s a 30 year gap, being called a gold digger becomes par for the course. But couple Derek, 31, and Ron 61 have been together for over four years and in that time won round friends and family by proving their love has nothing to do with money and everything to do with their instant connection. Derek and Ron met in a group setting and although both admit to an instant attraction, Ron was hesitant to date a man so much younger than him. He invited Derek to his East Hampton home so they could get to know each other away from the busy city.
