The Mentawai Islands - Getting there. - GoPro Hero 7 vlog

Stepping things up with my latest adventure, heading to the surfing playground known as 'The Ments' or Mentawai Islands as they are properly known. This wasn't a super easy trip for waves like going to Bali! There was some actual travel involved!

I flew from Perth, into Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. From there I travelled to Padang in Indonesia, where I stayed and explored for 2 nights before meeting with the group, theres a good reasons theres no footage from that short period, its boring as bat shit! Very Muslim town, so its hard to find westeners and Bintangs! Night 3 I met the rest of my boogie posse at our nicer hotel (that had hot water!) where I promptly hooked into several bintangs and a rad nasi goreng!

The following day was an early start, to catch the public ferry from Padang to Siberut Island, the main island in the Northern Ments, 3.5 hour trip in fairly rough seas and unparadise like weather.

From there, our private charter boat ;) collected us, and took us on the 40 min trip to our surf camp, where we would stay for 10 days!
