Whirlpool Dishwasher Pump Motor Repair (And Upgrade?)

Our Whirlpool WDT790SLYM3 dishwasher has been a constant source of frustration, especially since the pump motor started working only intermittently. Rather than contribute to the Replacement Parts Mafia, I decided to tear down the pump, figure out what went wrong, and fix it better-than-new. As for the longevity, we shall see. If it fails, I will post an update video. If you don't see an update, it means it's still working.
