Las Vegas helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon for $250 !

During a 14 hour (or longer) layover in Las Vegas, I recommend taking a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon. You can do it !
For as little as $250 (as of August 2015), companies such as Maverick and Papillon will pick you up at your hotel and drop you off within 4 hours from point to point (with a Grand Canyon flyover in-between).
If you have 5 hours, $370 dollars will include time to land within the Grand Canyon for exploration and a champagne lunch.
Just book your reservation online a few hours before landing in Las Vegas and they'll email you. Then call their reservation center with your confirmation number (in the email) to confirm your hotel pickup time, which is usually one and a half hours before your helicopter departure time.
So if you book a 4 PM tour, hotel pickup time will be 2:30 PM.
Wear sunscreen and sunglasses if you're flying during the day, and dress warmly if you're flying in the evening.
Several different companies offer these tours, but I chose Papillon because they were the cheapest when I looked online (not a sponsored endorsement).
