Be true to yourself | Annie Yi | TEDxChaoyangWomen

Struggling between traditional expectation and self value, Annie Yi still insists on following her own heart, and finally developed a strong life. Although she is a public figure, she always stress the importance of self-awareness. She regards herself as a human being firstly, then a women, and at last an actress. She believes that public figures should take the social responsibility to care about woman, and for this reason she established a book fund for children. In a society that women are still used to be objected, be suppressed by patriarchal society, she does not yield to the world and always be herself.

AnnieYi is the first Taiwanese actress to have walked on the red carpet of The Cannes Film Festival and The Tokyo International Film Festival. An outstanding actress, she is a two-time nominee of the Best Actress Golden Horse Award. The award-winning movie Good Men, Good Women Annie starred in makes her the first actress who was invited to walk through the red carpet of the USA Hawaii Film Festival and Swiss Foley Fort Film Festival. Apart from being an excellent actress, she is also a signer, writer, TV-show hostess, play writer, and movie director. Annie is also an philanthropist who have helped nearly 40,000 children gain access to books through her charity project “Jingxin Book Foundation”.
