I want to thank Scott Sharrard for the invite to participate on this rendition of Fred Tackett’s song “Fool Yourself.” My heartfelt thanks also to all who played on the song and for their generosity in including Fred and me in the festivities. I truly hope we can do this someday all together in the same place.
Who knows? Maybe Little Feat will do a video!

Hey Guys, This has of course, been a very tough time for the whole world. As we all holed up in our homes over the last several weeks, I have stayed in contact with all my friends in music that I am so lucky to know. My recent induction into the Little Feat family has been an overwhelming joy, great people making truly great music, what more could you ask for? My buddies Eric Finland and Jordan Rose are really good at doing these "virtual" collaboration videos. We did a little blues shuffle jam that turned out real nice a few weeks back. When they asked me to try singing one with them I thought it would be fun to get a chance to sing with the great Mary Corso and also have a shot at one of my favorite Little Feat songs, as Ive been tackling a whole bunch of tunes on guitar and vocals as the newest member of the band. This one felt like a natural fit for Mary and I vocally. As Bill Payne and Fred Tackett and I chatted on the phone I started to realize, maybe these guys want to jam on this thing? After all, Fred wrote this incredible song (orginally sung by my hero Lowell George on the Dixie Chicken record). Bill and Fred, two of the coolset guys I know, immediately jumped at the chance to collaborate this way during this time of isolation. I wasnt surprised, but I was delighted! Of course they played beautiful takes on this track. My good buddies from NYC Ben Zwerin and Moses Patrou also jumped in and rounded out the groove. The piece de resistance was getting my friend and co producer/engineer for the last 20 years Charles A. Martinez to do the final audio mix. What a bunch! I hope you all enjoy this, who knows, maybe a Little Feat full band collab is next? Love and hugs from the hudson valley, onwards. S
