The Republic of Tuva, once was part of the Mongol Horde, became part of Russia Empire as a protectorate in 1914. Later to become an independent Soviet Socialist Republic, but become part of the Soviet Union in 1921 after the Soviet take over of the former Russian Empire. Officially Stalin annexed it into the Soviet Union 1944. 80% of the Republic is Tuvan (Mongolian).
