Hands on with Supermicro 1U Half Petabyte EDSFF Server with STH

See the STH main site for more on this system: https://www.servethehome.com/hands-on-with-the-1u-half-petabyte-supermicro-edsff-server/

We get to check out a Supemicro storage server that packs up to 0.5PB of storage into 1U, and that will soon be a full 1 petabyte per U once the next 30TB+ capacity drives are released later this year. The Supermicro SSG-1029P-NEL32R uses the new EDSFF form factor to provide dense NVMe storage along with a full dual Xeon server in a 1U form factor.

Since there are no trade shows, we set up some time as the Silicon Valley shelter-in-place order eased to go see the new 60-bay top-loading storage server at Supermicro headquarters. Since we are using Supermicro's demo room, they are helping film the footage, they are providing the servers, and have project managers available for this and some of the other servers we looked at, we are calling this sponsored content. This was the only way I could do my normal trade-show coverage and I retained complete editorial control over the video. Still, I like to be transparent on this stuff since we are not using STH's facilities for this.
