Landing Page Experience is one of the three components impacting your Quality Score, which defines 39% of your final score. By identifying and deliberately working on pages with Below Average Landing Page Experience you can increase your overall Quality Score and get cheaper clicks.
You can start by analyzing your Landing Page Experience data in your Google Ads account. You can see the data by adding two columns (Landing page exp. and Landing page exp. (hist.)) to your Search Keywords report and filter out keywords with Below Average Landing Page experience. However, using the Reporting section of the Google Ads interface is a better way to do this as it helps you see how your landing pages are doing across the account. Exporting the data to Excel and using a Pivot Table will highlight the most frequently visited pages with a large number of keywords contributing to the Below Average Landing Page Experience. At this step, you want to make sure all your keywords are leading to the right landing pages and change the final URLs if you find a more relevant landing page for some keywords.
Then, check your page speed with a specialized tool, such as Google PageSpeed Insights, and get recommendations on how to improve it. Afterward, look at your Google Analytics data to filter out pages and keywords with a high Bounce Rate, which might indicate the content doesn’t really answer the user’s query.
Finally, look at your landing page and check if the content is relevant to the keyword and the ad users click before landing on it and if it is visually appealing to them.
