If you've just started playing guitar or your thinking about playing and your a fan of Arctic Monkeys then these simple easy riffs are perfect for you!

1.Fluorescent Adolescent
This riff is a create place to start learning guitar, played by Jamie Cook on the original recording, using only two strings we find ourselves navigating a box shape around the 2nd fret, mainly moving up and down the scale.

2.When The Sun Goes Down
This is an early Arctic Monkeys track, this riff is full of energy especially when combined with Matt Helders fast paced drum beat.
This riff uses three strings starting with the 3rd fret of the low E and mimics the notes played by the bass line underneath.

3.Teddy Picker
A song inspired by the arcade game where you attempt use a small crane arm to pick up and win a stuffed animal. I played this game as a kid many time, don't think I ever won anything.
The riff is mainly based on the 4th and 5th frets of the E string and the 6th and 5th of the A.

4.Don't Sit Down Cause I've Moved Your Chair
A very simple riff and also one of my favourites, can be played all on a single string, it also uses a clever little chromatic decent which I believe gives it that mysterious sound.

5. Why Do You Only Call Me When Your High
Rhythm is key when it comes to this riff, its essentially a bass line mimic'd on guitar for added depth.
