Carpet Turf vs. StoneEffects coating

Many homeowners once covered their concrete steps with outdoor turf carpet applied with contact cement adhesive. When the time comes to remove that carpeting, the adhesive beneath has become embedded into the concrete surface which makes removal EXTREMELY cumbersome!! Three days with 2 different glue remover chemicals, and LOTS of scraping!!!

Once the old materials have been removed and the surface returned back to 'normal', application of the Rustoleum product "StoneEffects" can be applied. NOTE! This is the trowel on version of the product, which is more complex to apply than the roll-on version many people would prefer (except the durability and anti-slip features would be missing). Also, the colors available in the trowel-on version are limited; the roll-on version are more pastel, and intended for interior color applications.

The homeowner wanted an anti-slip on the tread portion of the steps, which saved some material costs not coating the risers with StoneEffects product. NOTE! Best results are achieved by applying two generous coats of Step#2 with a finishing trowel; the first coat fills voids and acts as a base foundation, and the 2nd coat allows for an even finish that looks 100% perfect!
