February is usually one of the slowest months of the year for Poshmark. A lot of sellers mentally write it off before it even starts. But that’s not what I’m seeing right now. Even though we’re only a few days into the month, I’ve been consistently hitting close to one hundred dollars a day in profit, and that’s not normal for February.
My theory is that Poshmark’s recent cancellation policy changes are playing a much bigger role than most people realize. Those changes have made the platform harder to operate on for a lot of sellers, especially sellers who don’t have clean systems in place. When a marketplace becomes more restrictive, most people struggle, get frustrated, or quit. But that same restriction can turn into a moat if you know how to operate correctly within the rules.
What I’m seeing is that as it becomes tougher for the average seller to compete, the sellers who can adapt are quietly filling the sales gap. Fewer reliable sellers means less competition at the top, more visibility, and more consistent sales for the people who stay disciplined. If this trend continues, it wouldn’t surprise me if February ends up being much stronger than expected...and hopefully that trend continues into march and so on.
On the Mercari side, I’ve also seen a noticeable improvement lately, and a big part of that comes down to automation and speed. Using Sidekick Tools for Mercari has helped a ton, especially now that they’ve expanded beyond just Poshmark. If you’re already using it for Poshmark, the Mercari features come included, which makes it an easy win. They also have integrations for tons of other sites too.
The Mercari offer bot alone has been a complete game changer. I've pretty much doubled my sales there with literally no extra work. I set it up to make tons of offers every 3 days (which has seemed to be really effective), but keep in mind I have 17,000 listings up currently...so that's A LOT of offers going out.

The big takeaway here though is that when platforms change rules or tighten policies, it doesn’t automatically mean things are getting worse. Most of the time, it just means the playing field is shifting. The sellers who adapt early tend to absorb the sales volume left behind by everyone else.
I’m going to keep monitoring both Poshmark and Mercari closely and share updates as things develop. But so far, the data is pointing toward opportunity, not slowdown. You just need to understand how these platforms are constantly changing, stay current with those changes, and you'll do just fine.
