Odaiko Improvisation "Arrival of Godzilla". 大太鼓で静かな即興シリーズ. Gentle Dance with Kosuzu No.4

I found some old footages of me having a gentle dance / improvisation with Kosuzu, that is my Odaiko.
This was a day when a last minute change happened to a scheduled "writing/ composing session" and I had the Odaiko already set up. Due to the noise issue at my studio during the day time, I was only able to practice quietly.
It is so tempting to be as loud as possible especially when you are facing such a large drum so having the limitation in how loud I can be was such a blessing in disguise, forcing me to have much gentler approach than usual, which brought new inspirations and allowed myself to enjoy the sounds of small nuances and details.

Here I started exploring with the resonating decay of the drum by stroking the drum head with the sticks.
