How to make a wool felt picture: beach sea (Aannsha Jones creates)
"How to make a wool felt picture: beach sea" is an easy tutorial that gives you details of all you need to learn to make a picture using the wet felting technique. By placing different coloured layers of wool rovings and silk tops, and different kinds yarns - you can create a great beach and sea felt painting that also has shells and coral effects.
At the beginning I show you a few other more detailed felt pictures I have made, giving you an idea of what can be achieved.
This project is a great little picture - fairly simple and quick to put together, but at the same time giving you a beautiful sea felt 'painting'. It shows you how a simple design layout can actually be very effective.
See how each layer is built up so you get good depth of colour, and then how to put the finishing touches on for the details.
All materials you need are listed below. I used local Australian Merino wool for this project, which is such a wonderful, soft fibre that felts easily.
