❝Peter had made sure he was there for James and Sirius any time they needed him these past three months. He kept Sirius’ fridge full of actual food (and his liquor cabinet topped up). He carried messages to and fro. He sat up late with James when he was stressing about Lily’s pregnancy and the fact that Voldemort was actively interested in murdering his unborn baby. He patted shoulders and made tea and offered handkerchiefs like a good friend would.

They never offered him anything in return.

Not that Peter expected them to, not since his eyes had been opened at how little he’d actually meant to them. Oh, sure, he was always welcome at their homes, and they shared everything they had with him, but they rarely asked him how his day was, how his mum was doing, nothing like that.

They weren’t his friends. They never had been. Peter still couldn’t believe how long it had taken to realize the truth. It was always Sirius and James and their pet werewolf and James’ wet dream. Peter had never actually been part of their friend circle. He’d just been made to feel like he was. Lied to, really. For seven years. For nine years actually, though he could see the lies now. He could see how they treated him differently. Less-than.

Well. They thought he was still their stupid little tagalong. None of them knew that his eyes had been opened. That he wanted to make them hurt like he’d been hurt. He wanted to make sure they knew what it felt like to have everything ripped away—family, friends, stability, everything—ripped away and torn to shreds and tossed back in their faces.❞

You just know i had to make the last song in the marauders series Doomsday. I simply couldn't help it. I might be a slight sadist.

But, good news! I think I'm planning on making a post-1981 playlist for both Sirius and Remus since there's such a dramatic shift in their characters. I know I already picked out all of Remus' songs for it so...
