Woodland photography - an ancient yew tree and a dirty dog.
This is my vlog from a recent woodland photography session with my dog Barney. We photographed an Ancient Yew tree that has grown up on a steep bank around some local sandstone. Although it’s in an unlikely position, the yew tree is well-rooted after having died off in the middle. The side shoots have taken root in the soil and is well supported on all sides.
It is used as a sort of natural climbing frame for local children and a swing has been put up on one of its branches.
I compare two different cameras in the shoot, my own Canon 5DmkIII and a hired Sony A7RIII. I wanted to see if the large 42MP sensor on the Sony would be beneficial when shooting landscapes with the extra detail and dynamic range that the Sony sensor offers.
