This is the Most Basketball Obsessed Country in the World!

On every street corner, neighborhood, or barangay, you will find a basketball court. Sometimes, even without a cement or wood floor. Filipinos will play on grass, soil, even on sand. And everyone plays: big, small, short, tall, rich, poor, and middle class. You’ll find players wearing shoes, tsinelas, and even just bare feet.

So it begs the question, “why?” Why do Filipinos love this sport so much?

We cover the history of basketball in the Philippines as well as the future of Filipino basketball. Will there ever be a filipino NBA player?
