ELD for Drivers: Full Geotab Drive App & HOS Compliance Walkthrough

If your drivers struggle with logging in, fixing logs, or handling roadside checks, this session walks through every step of the Geotab Drive mobile app from the driver's perspective. Whether you're a fleet admin, dispatcher, or driver, you'll leave with a clear picture of what the app looks like in daily use and how to avoid the most common compliance mistakes.

Lisa Boskovic, Senior Training Specialist at Geotab, leads this Part 2 of Geotab's HOS ELD Compliance Training series, covering a full "day in the life" of a commercial driver using the Geotab Drive app. Topics include the complete login and logout workflow, how to edit and verify logs, asset inspections (DVIR), HOS exemptions, and what happens during a roadside check. Admins will also learn what settings they control in MyGeotab that directly affect the driver experience.

In this video:
- How drivers log into the Geotab Drive app correctly; including vehicle selection, trailers, and shipments
- How to add and verify a manual log when a driver forgets to log out
- What the pre-trip, in-trip, and post-trip asset inspection (DVIR) workflow looks like in the app
- How HOS exemptions work; adverse driving conditions, yard move, and personal conveyance
- How to handle a DOT roadside check using the 4-digit PIN and compliance print feature
- What ELD connection warnings mean and how to keep drivers in compliance throughout the day
