I'm so glad to be a part of this MAP, and especially that I got these lyrics because well. all throughout August I was coming to terms with the fact that I was experiencing emotional abuse from a friend I held very dear, and then had to figure out how to safely cut off contact.

It was a very scary and hurtful process, but I am forever grateful for the support I was given by my friends and fellow victims.

I was made to believe that everything that went wrong was my fault, and that I deserved all of the mistreatment thrown my way. It went as far as to me going to counselling because this person made me believe I was broken and had to be fixed to be deserving of his care. It felt so cathartic to be able to make a part to these lyrics and remind myself that I am a good person and friend, and I owe nothing to my abuser and I did the right thing by cutting ties forever.
