The 4XX status codes are used by servers to indicate that the client has made an error in their request. Here are the different 4XX status codes and their meanings:

400 Bad Request: This means that the server was unable to understand the client's request due to invalid syntax or a malformed request.

401 Unauthorized: This means that the client does not have proper authentication or authorization to access the requested resource.

402 Payment Required: This status code is reserved for future use.

403 Forbidden: This means that the server understands the request, but the client is not allowed to access the requested resource.

404 Not Found: This means that the server could not find the requested resource, either because it does not exist or because the server cannot disclose that it exists.

405 Method Not Allowed: This means that the method specified in the request is not allowed for the requested resource.

406 Not Acceptable: This means that the server cannot generate a response that is acceptable according to the headers provided in the request.

407 Proxy Authentication Required: This means that the client must first authenticate itself with the proxy before the request can be processed.

408 Request Timeout: This means that the server timed out waiting for the client to complete the request.

409 Conflict: This means that the request conflicts with the current state of the server.

410 Gone: This means that the requested resource is no longer available and has been permanently removed.

411 Length Required: This means that the server requires a Content-Length header to be included in the request.

412 Precondition Failed: This means that a condition specified in the request header fields evaluated to false.

413 Payload Too Large: This means that the request payload is larger than the server is willing or able to process.

414 URI Too Long: This means that the URI provided in the request is too long for the server to process.

415 Unsupported Media Type: This means that the server does not support the media type specified in the request.

416 Range Not Satisfiable: This means that the server cannot provide a response that includes the requested range of the resource.

417 Expectation Failed: This means that the server cannot meet the expectations specified in the Expect request header.
