Santrofi - Black and White - African Music 1216

Performance 6 july 2019 Santrofi is a brand new band performing classic High-life from Ghana. A group of young musicians from Accra lead by bass player Emmanuel Ofori, known from Pat Thomas & Kwashibu Area Band and Ebo Taylor. They have formed a new High Life powerhouse consisting of outstanding talent, playing this wonderful and diverse style created in the early 20th century. Rhythms, melodies and languages meshed together seamlessly, multiple guitars, groovy bass lines, traditional Ghanaian percussion, unique horn arrangements and majestic backing vocals creat a congenial exciting, swinging, fresh and tropical sound. The band consists of various vocalists, allowing flexibility in lead vocals while the multi-instrumentalists exchange instruments during the perfomance, creating a further dynamic to the micro-detailed and choreagraphic show.
