Smoked Honey Gold Hot Wings
Wings are always a crowd favorite, but sometimes you want something besides your standard Buffalo Wing. This recipe brings the sweet and the heat to change it up a bit.
***What You Need***
- Chicken Wings
- Your Favorite Rub Combo
- Equal Parts Mustard, Mayo, Honey, BBQ Sauce, and Hot Sauce
First thing you have to do is get the wings seasoned. For this recipe we used our own "Mississippi Grit" and @howtobbqright "The BBQ Rub". You want a good savory rub followed by a good sweet rub.
I love wings of a stick burner, so today I fired up the @ with some @ All Natural Charcoal. You can cook this recipe on any pit you would like. You want to make sure to keep the temps between 300-325. For the good smoke flavor we added a few splits of @.
Once the pit came up to temp we got the wings on. I placed them on a small rack to make it easy to manage and move if needed. This cook was about 1 1/2 hours and we cooked the wings until they reached an internal temp of 190-200. This produced a good and tender wing which is what I love.
***For the Sauce***
Combine equal parts mustard, mayo, honey, BBQ Sauce, Hot Sauce and mix well. I add a little BBQ rub to add a touch more sweet flavor.
Once the wings were done we tossed the wings in the sauce to get them good and coated. You can put the wings back on if you want to set the sauce but I like them good and messy.
These wings turned out great and the sauce was perfect. The sauce can easily be made you own and tweak it how you would like.
Thanks for checking this recipe out and as always let us know how you like it!
