This year's Silverstone Classic was spectacular. Both the MGB and the AC Cobra celebrated a 60-year anniversary, and both my MGB and Cobra rep were broken! But my girlfriend and I enjoyed touring around the weekend in her mk1 Mazda MX5. Another MX5 we spotted towards the end, however, was a mk4, which had been converted into an Alfa Romeo!
Mazda initially intended to work with Alfa to recreate the Alfa Spider, alongside their mk4 MX5. But Alfa Romeo couldn't badge a car made outside of Italy, so the idea went to Fiat. So the owner of this MX5 made the car Alfa should have done.
