History of Chinese in America | Locke California
I recently came across this town will browsing some random YouTube Channels. For a few months, I had been searching for towns like this, towns that were built by Chinese immigrants from the 1850's and beyond. Locke California is apparently the only remaining town built by Chinese that still stands with the majority of its original buildings still intact.
Since moving to California, I've realized how significant, yet how forgotten Chinese American history is. Credit must be given to these early immigrants to America, as they are responsible for a major portion of the West's development. While most of the physical history was erased, Locke is like a place frozen in time.
