"Doing stand-up, obviously I've told jokes on stage and stuff, so telling jokes that I did not write will be different, but I've got a great team and I'm with them and so I can get it into the rhythm and the words that I say, and the word I don't know how to say. I feel very excited, it's a little different of a thing, so that's what makes it fun and different and a nice challenge and see if we can keep it, yeah, have it be a great night.

"I just want everybody, I want when you walk out there, there's a comfort that they don't, the audience doesn't feel like, 'Oh man, am I about to get crushed or am I about to, whatever.' I want this one, and I think all that, you know, I want this want to be just when you when you walked out it's like fun and silly and I want them to really feel like an audience like at one of the stand-up shows and just make them feel very welcome."

"I talked to Jimmy Kimmel, I went to see Kimmel the other night, and he was wonderful. He had a lot of notes and a lot stuff for me and just like kind of like, you know, just not always anything crazy, but just, you know, make sure you sit down backstage because you'll be walking and tanding up, and like stuff like that, little things that you wouldn't think about. And then Conan Fallon, I called Nikki Glaser. And overall, it's just kind of like, yeah, just be you and trust in what you know how to do and what I've learned to do over these past 20 years doing stand-up and just bring it to the Emmys."

Collins: "Listen, those shows really, we all connect. Everyone has blown a Saturday because of a 'Law and Order.' You know, you turn, and then there's like 12 episodes and all your plans just went to shit. And so, like, it brings us together and so we want to celebrate those moments, celebrate those shows."
Rouzan-Clay: "Absolutely. I mean, you know, you bring up a good point. Nostalgia is important when it comes to television. You know, it's been around for a while and so we want to celebrate not just the shows that are up for nominations this year, but the shows we've grown up paying attention to and loving. I love that you bring 'Martin.' That was one of our favorites to bring to the stage. 'Cheers' was another great one that we did. So this year we just kind of wanted to give you a little more of that to remind everyone of the television that we grew up on. 'Gilmore Girls.' 'Grey's Anatomy' celebrating 20 years, so we have some great moments where we can be nostalgic this year."

STORYLINE:
The Television Academy held the 77th Primetime Emmys exclusive press preview in Los Angeles Thursday.

Hosted by Nate Bargatze, the star-studded event is set to have nostalgic moments for TV fans with celebrations of beloved classics like "Golden Girls," "Gilmore Girls" and "Grey's Anatomy."

Bargatze says he wants the show to make everyone in attendance feel welcomed.
The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards will take place at the Peacock Theater on 14 September, and will be broadcast live on CBS.
