Step 3 Replace spark plug: 2:52 - 3:35

First step, remove the spark plug wire by pulling it straight off and tucking it to the side. Use a spark plug wrench to remove the spark plug and begin your inspection. Second step, safely clean the spark plug with a soft wire brush or spray-on spark plug cleaner. Check the gap of the spark plug using a spark plug gapping tool to ensure it is at the proper measurement. At this time, you can reinstall your spark plug. If it is still damaged, move on to step three and replace your spark plug with a new one. Lastly, remember to reattach the spark plug wire.
