Fun and Spooky Fridge Magnets in Polymer Clay

These fridge magnets look good both in daylight and after the lights go out, as they glow in the dark. Great fun to make, this design would also work well as card toppers, pendants or brooches. They use the Night Glow clay from FIMO, which fluoresces in UV light, and glows in the dark for a time after the lights go off. Zap them with a UV torch, and they flare up brightly again – get creative with your own spooky accessories.

So, sit back, relax and watch as I take you step by step through the process.

I got my rare earth magnets in the UK from Penny Vingoe of Clayaround.com here - https://www.clayaround.com/shop/search.php?q=magnets

The measuring spoons I use are available from Asda in the UK. Try Walmart in the US. You could also use the Sculpey domed mould, a spent round lightbulb, the bottom of an empty, cut off drinks can, or any round/domed object made of glass/metal/ceramic etc, which will bake in your oven.

The large round cutters come as a set and can be found by searching under ‘Round Cutter Sets’ at various online retailers or in your local stores.

The small round cutters can either be bought in a set specifically used for polymer clay from many shops on Etsy, (I originally got mine from MyMandarinDucky on Etsy - https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/211379943/dottie-tool-set-for-polymer-clay-circle?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=dottie+cutters&ref=sr_gallery-1-2&organic_search_click=1&bes=1 ) but I have also bought them direct off eBay, where you can search under ‘Cord Pin End Crimp Terminal Wire Copper Connectors’ to find similar cutters, but you will get a huge amount all the same sizes.

I purchase my bio-degradable glitter from Glitter Magic, look under Ultra Fine Glitters - https://glittermagic.co.uk/product-category/glitters-powders/
