Lacson: Senate Blue Ribbon to summon 'flood control architect' Zaldy Co | DZMM TeleRadyo

The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee will summon “flood control architect” Zaldy Co once he is brought back to the Philippines, Blue Ribbon chairman Sen. Panfilo Lacson said Friday.

Lacson said the Blue Ribbon committee could restart its inquiry and allow Co to explain how flood control funds were funneled to different government projects under the public works department.

The senator said the Philippines could request the Czech Republic to deport Co despite lack of an extradition treaty. He noted Co could seek to fight his deportation, which would delay the process.

Co has a pending show cause order before the Senate Blue Ribbon committee last January.

Co, a central figure in the multibillion-peso flood control scandal, was arrested after crossing into the Czech Republic without proper documentation, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced Thursday.
