Webster! Full Episode December 4, 1985

Jack starts the show with Art Phillips, Commissioner, Critical Industries, regarding Sooke Forest Products, and a New Westminster sawmill, Lamford Forest Products. The companies have been purchased by their former employees and will reopen in the new year. They discuss other companies being helped by this commission; Jack opens the phone lines. Then, Jack speaks with Catherine Reynolds of Frontier College they discuss functional illiteracy; and the college’s Book Show Program, which aims to educate illiterate adults. Then Jack welcomes singer k.d. lang, and shows a film clip from her Juno win in 1985. They discuss her fans, her songs, her glasses, her biggest hit, “Hanky Panky”, and show the music video of same. Jack and k.d. perform an impromptu duet, and k.d. performs an acoustic version of “Diet of Strange Places”. k.d. requests phone calls and the lines are opened.
