How to drop blinds properly.

Note: All this video shows is blinds raising and dropping, nothing else.

So I've seen different videos of people having trouble with blinds. Here's a demonstration. Basically what you do is if you move the strings to the left and keep them there, then the lock won't engage. I demonstrate this by flicking the string (letting go) to the left. Even though I'm not slowly letting it down it still works.

This might be different for others but I'm sure that general idea still applies.
