Walking in Heavy Thunderstorm in Lieksa Finland

(4K) Evening walk in heavy thunderstorm in Lieksa, Finland on 23 June 2021 at 10.00 PM. In the beginning of the walk the storm and wind were so heavy that I had to seek cover immediately. I had huge difficulties to keep my umbrella and equipment in place so I waited something like 15 minutes the storm to ease a bit before continuing my walk through the city center to the shores of Lieksanjoki river and finally to the Lieksa Church.

This must have been one of the most difficult walks since it was lightning striking a lot and that made me a bit worried of my safety. Also, as soon as I got to the park on the shore of Lieksanjoki river, mosquitos found the cover of my umbrella and started attacking me. At the end of the walk loud lightning strike can be heard that hit quite near me. At that point, I decided to end the walk. But I do love rain and thunder, so I hope you like this walk too!

Lieksa is a city located in North Karelia region in Eastern Finland. It has population of 10,666 inhabitants and population density of 3.12 inhabitants per square kilometre.
