Vintage Fender 5E3 Tweed Deluxe, the greatest one ever?

Welcome to Tone Twins TV! Please subscribe to our channel.

Tone Twins TV is home to all thing’s 'vintage guitar tone' related;
vintage guitars, vintage amps, DIY, pedals, boutique and more!

After a busy few months Tone Twins are back, kind of, as we enter yet another Lockdown in Wales, Huw gets to work on Ed’s recently acquired Fender 5E3 Deluxe. We discover that this is a 1961 example so it’s one of the last 5E3s ever made and has the later style output transformer.

The amp arrived fully functioning, but some modifications were needed to make the mains wiring safe and we reversed some previous modifications to return this 5E3’s circuit to original specs.
Let us know what you think, but we think it's one of the best if not the best sounding 5e3's we've ever heard!

As mentioned in the video you could have this tone on your songs by contacting Ed's studio called Vintage Tone Factory. Focusing on remote re-amping through some of the worlds best vintage amps, the aim of Vintage Tone Factory is to give everyone the easy opportunity to have real vintage tone on their recordings. How many of your favourite records were recorded with digital modellers, plug-ins or the like...? Exactly!

In a really simple process you can record your guitar part at home, (remembering to take a clean DI split) then get in touch with Vintage Tone Factory who will re-amp your awesomely created guitar part through your choice of vintage amp, preamp, pedals, vintage mics etc... After a Hendrix tone? We'll run it through a 1968 Plexi Marshall into a Vintage Pre-Rola Greenback loaded 4x12 cab, maybe even with some germanium Fuzz Face or Tone bender recorded with a M160? How about some Tape Echo from a vintage EP3? Fancy your tracks running through a vintage 1980 ts808 into a 1964 blackface Deluxe into a Royer 121? Or a Vintage Tweed Bassman or Deluxe with a real Klon recorded with a 1950's RCA Ribbon mic or even a Neumann?
