The GoPro Hero5 in 2020 | TEC Tuesday

Folks, it's a new series! On Thorough Examination of Coolness (TEC) Tuesdays I'll be reviewing technology, filmmaking equipment, and anything else that I deem cool! Today I'm reviewing the GoPro Hero 5 Black. The Hero 5 was released back in 2016. While most technologies age very quickly over a four to five year span, the gopro hero 5 has been able to keep up with new models, especially considering that it's less than half the price of the newest GoPro Hero 8.

Sporting 4k video and 1080p at 120 frames per second, the Hero 5 is still a very viable option as an adventure cam, or a convenient pocket camera for the filmmaker on the go. Personally, I use the time lapse mode quite often for shooting vlogs. This allows me to capture two or three time lapses at the same time, saving valuable time for further filming or editing on a project.
